Acid Reflux
Most often people pay attention to foods that aggravate acid reflux and try to stay away from them..
However there are foods good for acid reflux. If a person is trying to refine their diet to
minimize their symptoms of reflux, one strategy is to start with these foods and gradually introduce additional
foods, noting which ones cause problems and which ones don’t.

Heartburn No More
Here's some food for acid reflux that most people can enjoy without causing a flare-up of
symptoms.
Dairy products are usually well tolerated and even soothing. In fact, years ago dairy products
and antacids were the main treatment for ulcer disease. Low fat milk, cheese, cottage cheese, cream cheese are all
usually well tolerated.
Although it’s obviously not dairy, most people with acid reflux do well with soy milk.
Most meat, fish and poultry are good for acid reflux. Of course, it depends on how they are
prepared. If someone has heartburn after eating meatballs in tomato sauce, it’s most likely the sauce that caused
the problem not the meatballs (although really greasy, spicy meatballs aren’t all that great for reflux
either).
Aside from tomatoes and onions, most vegetables don’t cause heartburn or make reflux
worse. Feel free to eat corn, green beans, carrots, peas and so forth.
Also most grains, such as bread, cereals, rice, quinoa etc., can be eaten without concern if you
suffer from reflux.
Eggs are a good protein source that usually won’t make reflux worse.
As you can see, you can eat a varied diet consisting only of foods that are good for acid
reflux. I suggest that you start with a fairly bland, simple menu. If you feel fine with that, then you can
gradually add new foods to discover which ones you can tolerate in which ones cause problems.
Also remember that the amount you eat at any one time makes a difference. Eating a large meal
will aggravate reflux.
You also can expect more problems if you lie down shortly after meal.
Of course, for many people simply picking foods are good for acid reflux alone won't control the
problems. If that's the case for you I suggest you check out one of our recommended resources below.
